Demand Planner, analyse and amend individual product forecasts taking into consideration demand history and trends, company strategy, product knowledge and marketing intelligence.
Evaluate the most economical supply strategy for individual products and suppliers. Agree the best strategy with the appropriate Buyer and monitor future amendments or non-compliance.
Check the stock health. Investigate any issues and communicate actions to the appropriate colleagues and management.
Plan for the successful introduction of new products. Measure weekly sales performances by product in year 1 and year 2 highlighting any over and under performance and taking action as necessary.
Assist in ensuring a seamless transition from current products to superseding or new products within the catalogue window. Make recommendations about proposed de-lists to minimise future obsolescence. To understand the business requirements and map it to functional specifications.
Take responsibility for forecasting and supply planning at divisional level. Discuss with Divisional Directors, Product Managers and Buyers to gain the latest market and product intelligence.
Analyse and measure the resulting forecast against financial plan - discuss/review any variances.
Generate cash flow and inventory projections and management information reports as required. Analyse Forecast accuracy and Inventory KPIs, take actions as necessary to correct under performance.
Take responsibility for the forecasting and planning aspects of key business initiatives.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
1-3 years of overall industry experience in similar role.
Mandatory Skills
Good knowledge about Inventory management.
Experience of working with large volumes of data.
Experience with Statistical background.
Purchasing knowledge within a Consumer goods environment.
Knowledge of forecasting algorithms such as Standard Moving Average, Double Exponential Smoothing, Bayesian Forecasting Method.
Knowledge in Advance Excel.
Knowledge of Databases and SQL.
Desired Skills
Experience with Purchasing knowledge
Experience in Multi-channel forecasting.
Knowledge of forecasting parameters and their effects on the forecast
Knowledge of forecasting performance measures such as MAD or MAPE.
Numerate with an analytical approach and sound commercial awareness.
