Ensure the required level of Project governance and control is applied to the project/programmes you are assigned to in alignment with the PM framework.
Provide advice and guidance to the project team for the successful completion of the project.
Optimize the budget allocated for the project by effectively utilizing the resources across the organization.
Engage with the project team to gain the understanding of and to collect and collate the required information to monitor and check to understand whether the project progress is aligning to project plan. Identify required areas to monitor, engage with the appropriate teams, understand and analyze the information provided and prepare the clear, concise, timely and accurate reports/presentations required for effective monitoring and decision making by the relevant stakeholders.
Be conversant with the financial discipline required to manage projects and be able to assist in budget tracking.
Be proactive in the ongoing development and improvement of the programmes and projects you are assigned to.
Work with the governance team to establish reporting requirements for key boards and the council on the performance of the project and programmes that you have been assigned to.
Plan the release of project deliverables and the software release life cycle. Communicate the project related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams.
Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.
Track the progress and find issues. Always work to improve the process of software release. Make sure that the release is planned, according to the requirements and budget.
Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release. Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule.
Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities. Communicate with team leads from across the business.
Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully. Work with relevant development teams responsible for building the automation tools used to develop and deploy the software.
Schedule the CAB meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and find roadblocks, if any.
Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
Educated to a graduate level (B.Tech/BE Preferable), MBA is an added advantage.
Project Management knowledge and proven experience of 8 to 10 years with non-overlapping project experience in IT (Product) domain.
Hands-on experience in handling multi-functional, multi team, inter-continental, product oriented projects (Development to Delivery)
Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful programme outcomes.
Experience working with senior decision makers within customer organisations
Knowledge and experience of working in the full Software Delivery Life Cycle
A proven track record of defining, developing and managing projects to time and budget.
Experience in delivering operational change in existing business functions
Strong communication skills – to effectively communicate relevant project information to internal and external stakeholders with the ability to monitor and act on client and staff feedback and understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
The ability to influence internal and external stakeholders of all levels, using flexibility of approach
Demonstrable ability to motivate teams to work together in the most efficient manner. Offer advice and coaching to help them achieve targets, holding individuals to account as necessary.
Diligence to ensure appropriate audit and compliance activities are in place i.e. ISO
Expert user of MS Project and MS Excel
Project/ Programme Management Certification (for example PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, MSP)
Completed ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation training
Experience of working in an Agile environment
